Virtual Swim to Rotto 2016

My apologies, this post is VERY late…but it is just me putting the first post out there! Please enjoy:)

40km, 400 laps, 3 x novelty teams, 4 x 4 person teams, 2 x accruing solo swimmers, $ 1,180.25 raised and numerous support people make up an awesome day for the 2016 Karma Resort Rottnest Virtual Channel Swim at the Paltridge Memorial Swimming Pool.

Based on a relay style race, the swimmers took turns doing their set laps before ‘high fiving’ the next swimmer.

Team Wahoo consisting of Ben, Odile, Brooklyn and Kelsie took out the day with a time of 6hours 19min just a minute in front of the team Awesome Foursome in a time of 6hours 20min a team of the Exmouth Swimming Club girls of Bella, Mim, Millie and Cedar.

Just keep swimming an all girls team came 3rd in a time of 6hrs 38min, Raising an amazing amount of money for the RFDS of $ 1,180.25 as well as the gate takings on the day of $142.90.

The remaining teams did the following times:

Orcas                         7Hrs 04min

Mother Ducks          7Hrs 05min

Team Koontz           7Hrs 49min

Shire Sharks            7Hrs 59 min

Rounding the long day off was ‘Rocking it at any speed’ at a time of 10Hrs 21min with smiles and maybe a few red faces as they walked out the gate.

It was a fantastic turn out for Exmouth with so many participants with a great atmosphere…who is up for it for 2017?
